National Geographic Cover
(February 1998); Torn off after using almost all of its contents.
Malvern Books Brown Bag
Now, a relic. The now closed malvern books, a bookstore featuring local authors, enclosed the poetry collection I purchased with a small brown envelope. I removed the logo and the collection sits peacefully on a shelf in my living room.
Poloroid (Erica, 1)
If you are just now meeting Erica, this is an appropriate introduction. Stoic. Intimidating. 5’2” and six days my elder. She is pictured standing next to my bookshelf at my parents house.
Chanel Smash Collage
When I asked a friend for a word for this collage I received the response “smash” which I incorporated into this collage. Made from a stack of Nat Geos and a Vogue I got for a good bargain at half price books.
Dark Man
Excerpt from a Dallas travel magazine my mother gifted me, portrait altered by yours truly.
Cafe Espresso Clock
Film photo from the same feature as the woman. I have always wanted a neon sign.
Horse!
From a miscellaneous magazine, more likely than not a National Geographic. The feature might have been Dante’s Inferno.
Brandy?
I'm not sure, I thought the glass was pretty. And I couldn't fit it in the collage it was intended for, so it might as well go here.
Advertising Piece
I rushed through the Blanton one day right to the contemporary section and read every third plaque (approximately). This piece was allegedly about the role advertising plays in our lives as a disruptor. I like that is virtually destroys my degree.
The Pillow Fort
Take it in. We lived in it for 24 hours, sneaking food in from the dining hall.
Ocean Scan
Made at a museum summer camp in 2017. This is my second favorite thing I've ever made. Every time I take it down and hang it up somewhere else, the ink rubs off on my hands. It is deteriorating as we speak.
Blanton Postcard
Went to the Blanton. This postcard was the only one they had of a piece from the permanent collection that was on display that month. Or maybe, it was the only one I remembered.
Poloroid (Avery, 1)
Taken in the dorm our freshman year when we built a pillow fort between our beds. It stayed up for approximately one (1) night.
The McConaughey
The summer before I started university, I got this postcard from Waterloo Records. Little did I know he’d be my professor 4 years later…
Airplane
From a collection of 1960s, 70s, and 80s magazines I was surprised with on my twenty-first birthday.
Topo Lid
One of many, bent because my keychain bottle-opener is not quite strong enough.
Woman
Another cutout from a magazine I acquired (somewhat) randomly in high school, I thought the composition was nice.
Diptyque, Sticker & Clip
The sample scent that came with my roommate’s first $60 candle. That I subsequently broke.
A place for a clip stuck lazily there when I couldn't find another place for it. This one made me feel like a crow collecting shiny things.

Sticker from a book about art I havent read yet. I don’t feel so bad because it was $8.99.
Ceiling
Renaissance ceiling of the Vatican's secret archives. When I learned that the great masters painted everything by laying on their backs, a lot of practical art problems were solved for me.
Window by Still Woozy
My top song at 2:56 PM on August 19th, 2020.
Legs
Another decoration I aspire to own.
Blanton Bag and "D" Sticker
In an attempt to make a font, I made a sticker of the letter "d." Then I put it on a gift bag that the postcards from the museum came from. Just taped right to the wall.
Photo-strip
Taken in a photo booth in a movie theater that no longer exists. Somehow we crammed four people in it.
Bust
A common motif.
